Brachioplasty can reduce loose, hanging skin of the upper arms and improve arm shape and definition. Ideal candidates for brachioplasty are individuals with excess upper arm skin and tissue that does not respond to diet or exercise. Candidates should be in good overall health, at a stable weight, and have realistic expectations. The type of brachioplasty recommended depends on the degree of skin laxity and contour concerns.

Brachioplasty targets the upper arms, typically from the armpit to the elbow. Depending on anatomy and goals, excess tissue near the armpit or lateral chest wall may also be addressed.

Brachioplasty techniques are tailored to the patient’s anatomy and the amount of excess skin present.

Mini Brachioplasty:

• Best suited for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity limited to the upper portion of the arm near the armpit. This approach typically involves a shorter incision and less extensive tissue removal.
  
  

Full Brachioplasty:

• Recommended for patients with more significant skin laxity extending along the length of the upper arm. This approach involves a longer incision, usually along the inner or posterior arm, allowing for more comprehensive contour improvement.

In some cases, liposuction may be performed simultaneously to enhance results. The procedure is performed under anesthesia, and recovery is gradual as swelling subsides and contours refine.
